Create an Onboarding Plan

 

Overview

This article will show you how to create an Onboarding Plan.

Instructions

  1. On the Employees tab, select the employee which needs a plan creation

  2. Select the Onboarding Plans tab

  3. Click the Create Onboarding Plan button

  4. Fill in the fields

    • Plan Type (required): Choose New Hire
    • Plan Name (required): Create the Plan Name
      • Note: The decided naming convention of the employee onboarding plan is for you to decide.
    • Plan Start Date (required): Enter the start date
    • Plan Complete: Check when the plan is completed
  5. Select Save

  6. You will be re-directed to the Onboarding Plans tab

  7. Select your new plan to Configure the Plan

  8. Manipulate desired tabs
    • Configure Plan

      • Note: All defaults are loaded depending on the template assigned to the job that this employee was hired for. From this point, any modifications made will only affect this employee's Onboarding Plan. The job template will not be changed.
      • Sections: Add or remove sections the Onboarding Plan will display
      • Forms: Add or remove forms the Onboarding Plan will display
      • Videos: Add or remove videos the Onboarding Plan will display
    • Configure Workflow: Assign internal task assignments for the employee

    • Job Description: Already populated with Job Description Report

    • Day One Schedule: Drag-and-drop events onto the schedule
      create_an_onboarding_plan_day_1_schedule.jpg
      • Print Schedule: Print the schedule
      • Event Library: Search for pre-existing events to add to the Day One Schedule
      • Add Event: Create a new Event for the Day One Schedule
    • Week One Schedule: Drag-and-drop events onto the schedule

      • Print Schedule: Print the schedule
      • Event Library: Search for pre-existing events to add
      • Add Event: Create a new event
    • Month One Schedule: Drag-and-drop events onto the schedule

      • Print Schedule: Print the schedule
      • Event Library: Search for pre-existing events to add
      • Add Event: Create a new event
  9. Return to Configure Plan tab to select Start & Publish Onboarding Plan or Save Plan

    • Start & Publish Onboarding Plan: Start and activate the plan
      • NoteYour new hire will receive an email containing a link to the Onboarding Plan, along with a username and password.
      • Note: If you want to start and publish, you must click Save Plan first.
    • Save Plan: Do not activate the plan, save as a draft

Note: Once the Onboarding plan has been published, anyone who has been assigned a workflow task will be notified by email that a task has been assigned to them. A Workflow Agent manages all tasks from within the email and is able to reject the task or mark complete.
